Re: The OpenCaching NA 5th Anniversary Contest
Wow! The month is almost half over and I haven't even started yet. I am still planning to participate in the contest and I've shared it with a few friends that may participate as well. Good luck everyone! I can hardly wait until my kids go back to school and I can focus better on finding caches. Sad...

There's a little library in the playground at Lake Waterford Park in Pasadena, MDDudleyGrunt wrote:I've seen them around and they do seem to be a trend. I've thought about placing caches at some, but have not yet and have not found any at them.

Re: Thoughts on Our Recent Cacher Diversity Training
Maybe one of the things for the contest next year should be something along the lines of introduce someone new to OpenCaching.us? I like that one! Of course people would have to be honest, and not creating sock puppet accounts. I can see IP addresses. Not that I ever need to. Except for spammers. W...

Re: Site suggestion - permalinks
The blog already looks like it is set up with the permalinks as I suggested. It's the opencaching.us site itself. Unfortunately, I don't know much about developing sites in anything other than WordPress, so I wouldn't know where to begin to try to help fix the permacodes here. But I do know a fair a...

Re: Thoughts on Our Recent Cacher Diversity Training
My background. I signed up for a geocaching.com account in 2008. In 2012 I went with my daughters on a trip to Savannah, Georgia and they earned a Geocaching badge while they were there. So that was the first time I had ever helped actually look for a cache. We found 2. In 2013, I went with another ...

Site suggestion - permalinks
I'm not sure why I didn't notice earlier, but I noticed this evening that the opencaching.us website uses default permalinks. You may want to consider changing the setting to post name instead. It makes finding posts a little easier and shortens the URL. It also helps with Google searches. It doesn'...

I'll stay here. Thank you. Now to just get the Boy Scouts to rewrite the merit badge book to not be so specific to Groundspeak.

Re: Advice for Boy Scout Geocaching Merit Badge
Need an opinion. One of the requirements is to track a Travel Bug. Do you think it would be okay to track a GeoKrety instead? I'm still new to being a merit badge counselor.
