Ironically, on a related issue, for those same event caches with password specified, the password is not really required to log an Attended for events. A small note on the logging page says this - only required for Found, and testing shows any or no password can be used with an Attended log.

If I scrolled down farther, there is some very large letter/numbers shown, so I think it has something to do with formatting. I had some difficulty copy/pasting into the log form, and the display kept changing. It appeared to be mostly word wrap, but something else was happening that wasn't apparent...
