We off road as a family, so I'm not understanding the road is in bad shape that is preventing a search for this old geocache. I'm planning an ATV trip to find west Virginia's oldest ownerless active geocache this spring. If all goes well, I'm leaving a new custom .50 cal ammo can as my contribution of propping up old caches that the owner left the game years ago and the community thinks the cache is special.
My idea is that there is so much interest now with this Spot cache, we organize a search party of OCNA Admins and the two other guys here in the forums and go find that cache, or confirm it missing. We have one member that has already found it. Maybe we could get Garmin's attention, and they would let us blog about our adventure like those Lackeys did with the Ape cache?
Really, a email from a site admin here to Garmin just letting them know that we (OCNA) are very much a part of the geocaching community. I think that we all are cache owners on Groundspeak's site, and we play there was well. It's untelling what you may be able to work out. I never saw Garmin's site as the bad guys. To me, it looked something like what I saw with another group of professionals that had geocaching put on their job agenda and they knew not shit about geocaching. I also see they failed to listen to the community, or did not care, it was all about data for those new units.
