Statpics

Not just this website, I know we have an expert in the house, DudleyGrunt. I belong to a "private" Geocaching forum where a bunch of people (myself included) are wanting to display their Geocaching.com statpic. However, the signatures for this forum only accept BB code, and Geocaching.com only gives HTML. Does anyone have experience posting the Geocaching.com banner using BB code? Myself and another guy got it to display, but it's not clickable to your GC.com profile.

Then I know where the Terracaching.com statpics are. I'm pretty certain the Navicache banners are dead, that Scout isn't actively updating them. There's a couple places I don't even know where to get them (and I know DG has them): Munzee and GPSgames.org.

Groundspeak Statpic...

If the statpic is displaying, then you can just add the standard BB code URL tags around it.

( for example: [url=http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=dudleygrunt][stuff that works][/url] )

Interestingly, the Munzee statpic (Sigzee) is (or was) hosted on OpenCaching UK.

Here is a link to zipputzky's post from the Munzee forums. I'm having trouble getting to the OCUK sigzee page (www.opencaching.org.uk/sigzee.php) right now, but mine is still working, so I'm thinking it is just a temporary issue.

Yeah, right now I only see the word "image", which is a clickable link to your Munzee profile. I'll wait on that one. I can't link to this forum, as I said it's by invitation only, but I have 4 banners across the bottom now (us, Geokrety, Geocaching.com, and Terracaching.com).

Where the heck are the gpsgames.org banners? I do believe you are the only person I ever saw with one. And am I correct that the Navicache banners, although you can still see them, aren't updated any longer?

Oh, and your advice sent me in the right direction to get the GC.com statpic to be clickable, all done with BB code. Kind of strange that all these small volunteer run alt sites give you the HTML *AND* BBcode, but Groundspeak only gives you HTML.

I can't recall where I got the GPSgames statpic, but I think I had to write to Scout at GPSgames. There may have been a thread in Navicahe forums, but I don't see it.

New Munzee Statpic info can be found HERE with info instructions for both HTML and BBCode. It is part of the Munzee site, now, so you will be provided with your personal links.

As you can see below, I've updated mine.

When you bumped this, I thought "oh boy, maybe there's a problem with our Statpics". So that can be YOUR April Fools joke. Actually, I was going to say that this morning, the Munzee Statpic looked fuzzy to me, but they must have gotten some feedback, and fixed it already.

GPSgames.org (geocaching)

HTML -
<a href="http://http://www.gpsgames.org/cgi-bin/ ... r=USERNAME" target="_blank"><img alt='GPSgames' src="http://geocaching.gpsgames.org/cgi-bin/ ... PRASE"></a>

BBCODE -
[url=http://http://www.gpsgames.org/cgi-bin/ ... r=USERNAME][img]http://geocaching.gpsgames.org/cgi-bin/ ... TCH+PHRASE[/img][/url]

Just replace "USERNAME" with your GPSgames username and "YOUR+CUSTOM+CATCH+PHRASE" with your choice of phrase, using "+" for spacing.

Not discussed in this thread, but as you guys know, they've been frozen since day 1 of Kickassd (Which was March 4th). We're getting close here I think, actively being worked on.

This one is tough, man. We (myself, our UK PHP whiz, and kickassd) believe the content delivery network Cloudflare is messing it up. That's what helps to turbocharge the website, and prevent future Denial of Service Attacks (which happened last year on the blog).
