OPENCACHING NORTH AMERICA

Anyone else following this in the news or other media where a person found what appears to geocachers as being a geocache, but at the time of this posting it is bidding off on eBay at $305.

The finder claims it was found inside of a tree stump in a park, and it appears decades old aged with patina. To me it appears to be a camo painted mason jar with the lid and ring still intact, and not very old at all.

As expected it was a geocache.

Sure looked like one to me. Patina? Looked like camo paint and what metal gets the same patina as glass anyway?

I see our amateur paint and placement technique can fool some of the people some of the time. That along with parting them from their money with false hope.

At least he cancelled the sale.
