In case some of you didn't know about benchmarks, they are fun to find and make a great virtual cache listing. So check out the US databases and if one is near you, be sure to list it!

I'm a fairly avid benchmark hunter. Here are a couple of useful links in located ones in your area:

Scaredy Cat Films Benchmark Viewer
This site has an interactive map of benchmarks in the US.

Holoscenes
This site has some great statistics on benchmarking.

I like to keep track of the benchmarks I've found using Google Maps.
I'm nowhere near an expert, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask me :)
Just remember, one of the most important things when logging benchmarks is to make sure you've found the correct one. Many times they get replaced or similar ones are monumented by different agencies nearby. It shouldn't be too much of a problem if you are just logging one that is a virtual cache on OC, but it really does if you decide to start reporting them to the NGS.

And just a word of caution. Many benchmarks are located along rail lines. I was avoid using those as bases for virtual caches.

I've found 93 so far in a little over a year. Just have to start venturing further out to get more of them :)
