Is a benchmark listed on OCUS as a virutal cache, crosslisted if the benchmark is listed at GC.com simply under the Benchmark category, but not a cache?
Once is cache and one is not.
They're not owned by the same person (since Benchmarks don't' have owners).
Just curious as to whether folks think that this should be listed as an "OCUS ONLY" cache or should be marked as crosslisted, even though ht

Re: Is this Crosslisted?
I would think a bench mark would only make a good vc IF its of or at an historically significant place. I dont think any random BM should be a cache. So if its a vc by my definition (just my opinion) then it should be OCUS only
Re: Is this Crosslisted?
Technically benchmarks do have owners. The majority of them are owned by the US government.
I'd say it could be considered an OCUS only cache. It is listed on GC, but not as a cache, more of a point of interest.
Is this your cache DG?

Never mind. I'm assuming you are referring to one of NativTxn's?

Re: Is this Crosslisted?
I'd consider it a virtual since it doesn't have a container. Is it a cross-listing? If you know it is listed on another site, go ahead and show the listing code so other users can log it anywhere it may be listed.

Re: Is this Crosslisted?
On GC.com benchmarks are BMxxxx, but that doesn't work in the field provided for GC.com caches.
Re: Is this Crosslisted?
Yeah...I'm the guilty party.
Whichever way y'all decide is fine by me. Cross-listed or OCUS Only. I know they don't count toward your "finds" on GC.com, but the listings are there for people to log and get the smiley. So you could look at it either way. Just let me know if I need to adjust the listings.

Re: Is this Crosslisted?
So adding the BMxxxx in the geocaching.com box won't create a valid link to their listing? Is the listing on waymarking.com or something? If that is the case, then it won't be considered a cross-listing. I will get an attribute up today so they can be searched.DudleyGrunt wrote:On GC.com benchmarks are BMxxxx, but that doesn't work in the field provided for GC.com caches.

Re: Is this Crosslisted?
The new US Benchmark attribute has been added. You can add it to any existing listings.
Re: Is this Crosslisted?
I got the attribute added to my listings. The link to the Geocaching page for the benchmarks is as follows: http://www.geocaching.com/mark/datashee ... PID=BM0038. It is not the regular coord.info link.
