Headquarters?

Post by NativTxn » Fri Jul 01, 2011 3:27 pm

Just curious...is there a headquarters for OCUS? Are there actual employees or is it all volunteers working from their own homes? Where are the servers housed?
If you hide it, they will come!

Right now, the HQ is in Mission, TX simply because that is where I am. The site is hosted with Slicehost, a RackSpace company. There are no employees, just volunteers.

Moles. Definitely Moles. You know, GeoKrety. Banner below this post. By the way, that's like the coolest looking mascot in all of Geocaching.

Slicehost was bought out by RackSpace shortly before Opencaching.us was launched in August 2010. But that name has now been dissolved, and we are definitely a Rackspace customer. The servers are located in Rackspace's suburban Chicago facility (although they have 2 other facilities in the U.S.) Cute how the OP herself is now an employee. Oops, I mean a volunteer.
