Coming to Central North Carolina

Post by DudleyGrunt » Fri Jun 22, 2012 1:58 pm

After getting to spend some time with NativTxn, while she's in Baltimore and then heading to Western NY for a few days, I'm looking at heading down to Central NC the weekend of July 20.

Cclip's (and other) caches have been calling me for a while and I plan to take advantage of time I'll have while my son is out in Philmont, NM.

I would love to host / attend an event and meet some local cachers, while I'm there. Probably in Raleigh on Friday evening (7/20). Then, I may try to head over to Charlotte on Saturday / Sunday.

Haven't heard anything from the locals, so I'm starting to e-mail the following directly to some local cachers. If anyone here has any input, I'd appreciate it, as well.
Greetings.

I'm a Maryland cacher who is looking to being in NC in a couple weeks - 2 to be exact.

I'd like to host an event, while I'm down there. On Friday, I'll be caching my way SW from Raleigh.

On Saturday, I plan to be in Charlotte. Rockingham seems to be conveniently located as a place to 1) stay overnight and 2) host an event in the evening.

I thought I'd check with a few local cachers to see if you have any recommendations for an event venue.

I prefer places where people can order at a counter, so we don't have to worry about splitting bills up, and (more of an option, but nice) places that have a separate room that can be reserved.

I know this is short notice, but if you have any input, it would be appreciated.

Thanks and Happy Trails!
