Cache proximity/density

Correct me if I'm wrong, the the proximity rule does not apply to nearby caches listed on other sites, correct? We only need to take that into consideration if we cross list the cache?

I would not suggest that you knowingly hide a cache near another one, regardless of where it may be listed. But I don't feel it would be necessary to look on other sites before hiding your cache to be listed here.
