Navicache & TerraCaching

Post by DudleyGrunt » Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:10 pm

Why are Navicache and TerraCaching not available when searching for nearest caches or when noting which other sites the cache might be listed on.

Of course, TerraCaching frowns on crosslisting their caches, other than events, but still curious.

The Open Source code we used for this site simply did not include that information. It may be something we can add in the future, if we find a volunteer skilled with mySQL, PHP and the database structure of those sites.

I see now that Navicahe IS included in the "Find geocaches on..." options. Is that new or did I miss it before?

I was referring to the waypoint section on "Hide a Cache"... it has always been on the cache listing page as an option.

I see TerraCaching has been added to the "find nearest" option. Thanks.

Not to nitpick, but I see it takes you to the map page. TC doesn't have a good search by Zip / coord option that gives you a list, but if you click on "Find Nearest TerraCaches" from a TC cache page, it will provide a list. Wonder if it would be possible to get a list, instead of the map for TC. Map is good, but a list would be more precise when trying to determine distance.

AND I see that TC and NC have been added as options for crosslisting info.

Thanks!

Post this in the Site Suggestion thread please. Several of the coders read that and will see it there... they don't look at any other threads (other than Bug Reports and Site Suggestions).
