When should the State / Divisions Forums are be available?
Re: State / Division Forums
I noticed that they have been evolving over the past day. Looking forward to using them.

Soon. I am not at the camper today so I can't work on them right now.

I take it the servers are not actually in the camper? Somehow, though, updating the site from a camper seems appropriate for an outdoor activity like geocaching.RVRoadTrip wrote:Soon. I am not at the camper today so I can't work on them right now.

LOL, the virtual server is with Rackspace... I think in either Texas or Illinois. The wife and I live full-time in an RV and travel all over. We had lots to do today so I couldn't get online other than through my Droid X.

Re: State / Division Forums
OK, I think I have the State/Division sections all set and ready to go. Let me know if you have any issues... I am an old guy and new to PHPbb and am having to do lots of reading! If you feel you would make a good moderator for a specific forum section and would like to volunteer, let me know. I will need to see some forums you frequent so I can see what you have posted in the past.
Thanks!
Jerry

Re: State / Division Forums
I've just made the first two posts in the Division 5, Southern Atlantic forums. I'd be happy to help moderate the section.
I regularly participate on the forums for...
GeoCachers4Christ
Military Association of GeoCachers
Maryland Geocaching Society
Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization

Re: State / Division Forums
I could moderate Division 3, East North Central
I pretty much only visit geocaching forums at the moment:
WGA
Groundspeak Benchmark Forum
*I've posted on other sections, but I'm most active in the benchmark one
Pontiac Bonneville Club Forum
*I used to frequent this one, but after I sold the car I lost interest in the site.

Re: State / Division Forums
I appreciate you guys offer to moderate your Division and after a little checking, I found no reason to disqualify you... so you have been set as the moderator for your respective division forum. Now you can drive a little traffic to it.

Re: State / Division Forums
Thanks. Will do. I've already been promoting the site via Twitter, Facebook and the forums I mentioned above.
I'm considering creating a single trhead in the division thread for local caching organization that cold be pinned to the top, instead of having a separate thread for each group. What do you guys think? Easier to do now, instead of waiting until we have a dozen or so threads for individual groups in each division.
