Eye Candy

I know the other OC sites have a similar look but a little eye candy would benefit the site.
With the recent appearance of OC dot com I can't help but really notice the look of the site. The background, the target difficulty/terrain/awsomeness scale all appeal to the viewer.
The OCus site has been discribed as the Linux of old, clunky and uncool. Or in the words of Barney Stimpson "Eye Broccoli".
If there was a member with the skills required, a little beautification of the site wouldn't hurt.
You know, first impressions followed by a clean easy to use layout.
