Winter caching

Post by glorkar » Sat Sep 11, 2010 7:57 pm

Snow is just around the corner here in the midwest. Do you enjoy caching in the snow? Or are you the type of person that curls up under a pile of blankets for a few months? To be honest, the snow doesn't really have an effect on my caching. I'm not a die hard, so I only get a couple a week any way.

Actually I prefer caching in the winter - no misquotes, no ticks, no brush and no heat. Snow on the other hand can make it a bit more challenging. Being in the snow belt in Northern Illinois many people tend to make their caches winter friendly (i.e. not on the ground if a small container).

I don't care for the cold that comes with winter, but like Badlands said,"no misquotes, no ticks, no brush and no heat." I recently looked over my finds for the past 4 years and at least 2/3 of them are in the late fall and winter.
