Kret like pathtag

Can a geo kret be used like a path tag? I would like to let people take a signature item, but want to see the final destination?

I want to drop it into a cache and let people keep it, but log what city/state they are taking it to rather than a cache id/navigation point. I would rather create a single trackable identifier rather than one per item.

You could give the same GK number to multiple items and people can log it by coordinates (or by waypoint). However, you will get a map like you would with a TB / geocoin (with its "route" shown) vs. pins like the Pathtags map. Since most folks are familiar with GeoKrets, I would suggest attaching an info / instructions tag.

That is what I was thinking as well. I will put in a paper that says they can keep the item just to please log it in where they are going. I was hoping there was some built in mechanism I hadn't recognized for doing this.
