The fixed cache Maps were officially released to the public on this date. Observations? Questions? Bugs? This is the place.

I'll start you guys out before anyone reports it as a bug. Caches with a smiley on the icon, which looks similar to this one ==> :D have a rating of excellent. Caches you have found should have a green checkmark on the icon.

Looks great. I really like the ability to check the terrain box. It helps in the mountains to not always travel as the crow flies.

Thanks for checking out the maps, and checking in Tripman1! I actually have a couple things for you. First, I knew we had a couple of virtuals in Philadelphia, but I didn't realize (or did and forgot) that one of them was yours. If everything goes according to plan, and it should, I will find that in a little over 3 weeks.

The 2nd thing is I have received instructions from Dariusz from OpenCaching.pl on how to change the hard to see blue cache icons on the map on the main page of the 10 latest caches. But keep in mind this is me we're talking about here, and I have instructions, meaning I have to do it myself! I am actually going to try over the weekend, as Dariusz seems to be more readily available for responses on weekends.

Just passing through Philly. I'd normally loop around on Interstates, but we have the virts, and there are a couple of Groundspeak virts. I should be there on a Saturday afternoon, which will work good for traffic. I'm probably going to try red markers, and will bump the old thread to report my results.

Just playing with the maps again, I can get over how great they are working. I did notice something I had forgotten about, a long stranded moving cache near GC39 AKA The Spot. I hope to go on a rescue mission soon

I've seen that, and it downright sucks that a user from Maryland dropped that moving cache in an outstanding location on the way to a May 2000 placed cache, and no one has picked it up. On the bright side, people are sometimes hesitant to move a moving cache, and it could very well have been found a few times in it's current location, and people don't want to move it. Of course if it has, they haven't logged it online on this website. But we are used to people downloading and finding our caches, and not bothering to log them here. As a matter of fact, the No. 1 cache finder in New York is known to do this, although I haven't run into him in a while and asked him about it. :D
