Dead Drop Cache Stats

Post by DudleyGrunt » Sun Aug 30, 2015 10:44 pm

I logged my 2nd Dead Drop Cache (DDC) today. That made me wonder if I was the first person to log 2 of them. Turns out I am.

SEARCH RESULTS

There are only 8 DDC's on the site. All that have been published are still active.

2 published in 2010, 2 in 2012, 1 2014, and 3 this year. Half have been published since last August.

sfcchaz is the only person to own 2.

The first one was RBS DeadDrop (OU016E) in Ontario, CAN. This is the only one outside of the US.

The first one in the US and the first to be found was Dead Drop Fun! (OU0175) in Idaho. dino_hunters found it on Christmas Day 2010. Oddly, he mentioned in his log that there were TWO in the US, but I am not finding evidence of it now. Perhaps it was converted to another type of cache?

No Pen Required (OU057B) in North Carolina has the most finds (4).

Maryland is home to the most DDC's with 3.

Two are still unfound - RBS DeadDrop (OU016E) and Memfis Mafia Dead Drop (OU082F).

I am just now reading this one. I own one of the unfound dead drop caches. In fact it is right down the street from my house. I offer up a free pint of craft beer for the first finder!

I added a note to mine that if someone wants to do it, but doesn't feel comfortable using their own laptop they can let me know and I can try to meet them with my standalone XP netbook.
