It was a typo, they meant use Glocks, not throw rocks. But I din't read the article either.Bon Echo wrote: Before I read the whole article, I wondered if it was a spoof - citizens encouraged to use the rocks to stop crime - throw said rocks at the bad guys..or something like that.

Re: Navicache
No nesd to bother looking for theirs or anyhing else When I first got into geocaching around ten years ago I looked at their site and saw listings on bridges that had been demolished and rebuilt, caches in a flood zone that had been underwater several times, and one where a shopping complex was bui...

Re: Virts are back on GC
I got a chuckle out of the post in the GS thread that said Mr. Yuck was Jeremy.

Re: Virts are back on GC
It was never intended to be personal but I do call it as I see it and OCNA has improved in the last few years. I see stale data caches being archived now, and someone is actually minding the store. ;) I logged a few GS virtuals while on vacation about a month ago in GSMNP and really enjoyed them. Th...

Re: Virts are back on GC
Yuck's prediction was likely based on the same algorithm that the GS Lackeys used except Yuck's prediction had nothing to do with the "Buddy System". ;) Never posting in the forums must have been part of the algorithm, that and and FP's. I admit, a few years ago I would have been hurt beca...

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
I would start here: http://www8.garmin.com/aboutGarmin/sponsorship/sponsorship-form/ and ask that they support our geocaching community. :) May want to tell them we are having an event, and ask for geocaching related door prizes. You, being the site admin should be able to get a little support from ...

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
I'm just over 501 miles line or sight from the Spot. Look, I have some Yankee kin that lives in the Buffalo area, and they own snow machines and ATV's. ;) We off road as a family, so I'm not understanding the road is in bad shape that is preventing a search for this old geocache. I'm planning an ATV...

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
Looks like I posted the wrong link. I was back logging some GC caches at the same time. About the Spot cache, am I the only one following it in Groundspeak's forums?

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
So, just how far are you from GC39, The Spot?
Maybe we should start a gofundme page and go look for it? We could really blog about our adventure, and Garmin may be interested.

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
I'm sure they will send you something if you ask. I read their blog, which lacks geocaching interest. Maybe you could get an interview or something, let the World know that there is still an active alternative geocaching site.
