Might catch on, might not but I like that people are willing to try new things.

Re: Why Opencaching?
I don't have anything against groundspeak and I will continue to use their listing service but I don't believe they should define what the caching experience will be either. Re: How many states?
Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma

When I started I cached mostly solo but now I rarely cache solo preferring the social aspects of the game as much as the hunt itself.

Actually I prefer caching in the winter - no misquotes, no ticks, no brush and no heat. Snow on the other hand can make it a bit more challenging. Being in the snow belt in Northern Illinois many people tend to make their caches winter friendly (i.e. not on the ground if a small container).

Out of Sight
Dark Side of the Park
Here are two examples of caches listed on gc.com, both are excellent caches. OC appears to be much more open to concept caches so I'm looking forward to what develops here.

Re: Do you plan on cross listing?
I have had a couple of caches hidden for several months that are not let listed. One is now in the review queue here. So far I like what I see.
To answer the question, I see no reason to cross list.
