Re: The OpenCaching NA 5th Anniversary Contest
Since we are close to the halfway mark in the OCNA 5th anniversary contest, I thought I would take a look at the numbers of caches hidden and published so far since August 1st. this is based on the list of caches in the “New Geocaches” list: Number of OCNA members who placed a cache: 14 Cache types ...

Re: The OpenCaching NA 5th Anniversary Contest
Thanks Mr.Yuck and the rest of the OCNA admins for putting this together. No small task, I would imaging. I'm hoping to complete as many of the tasks as possible. With few OCNA hides this side of the border (other than the ones I own), finding the required caches might be tough. Anyone else have any...

Re: Lets not turn opencaching into waymarking
As a Waymarker and virtual geocacher I try to make sure my virtuals can not be googled, or that the logging code can not be found on the Waymarking site. Most of the virtuals listed on geocaching.com are ownerless, but just clicking on the nearest waymarks feature usually have the answers there req...

Re: Benchmarks
Is the Benchmark cache-type still in the works? I've been thinking about logging requirements for those - a photo maybe? I located a number of them across the 4 western Canadian provinces and look forward to creating listings for them. Thanks Edit to add: should there be a requirement that the one p...

Re: Little Free Library caches
Just returned home from a trip to Western Canada via the USA, we saw several along the way and stopped at one in Grand Forks ND where we had a nice chat with the owner, about books and about floods. I might contact them to see if they would consider having a guestbook in their library. This thread p...

Re: MP3 and USB caches
I'm planning to do a MP3 cache at some point but with a twist (if allowed) - i will leave a small USB player in a container at the posted coordinates (runs of a single AAA battery which the finder will need to bring along). the finder will have to retrieve the player and listed to the single mp3 fil...

Re: Lets not turn opencaching into waymarking
Hey there Memfis Mafia, as a member here can I say thank-you for your contributions? I've been watching as you roll out cache after cache, many different cache types (even an mp3 cache, that's rare!) and nice page designs too. Impressive and appreciated, you clearly are putting a lot of time and eff...

Lets not turn opencaching into waymarking
Lets not turn opencaching into waymarking. I see a lotof new virtual listings and that is great (maybe, or maybe it's too many virtuals), except the coordinates and images all appear to be taken from the waymarking site or other online sources. I love waymarking and have posted and visited a few hun...

Re: GeoGet - A free GSAK alternative
Thanks MrYuck for the info about GeoGet. Looking forward to the challenges (not that I will qualify for many with only 4 OCNA finds so far), and yes I noticed that suggestion came up in the GS forums. I pipped in about the OCNA challenges but decided against it. But the timing is quite interesting.

Re: GPSgames.org locationless challenge
I know I won't be logging it...I'll probably never get more than one point ("find AND hide at least 1 geocache listed on GPSgames.org"). I don't really have any interest in the other sites - only because I don't have the time to add more to the games i already don't have enough time for.
