Anyone from the Billings MT. area?
Hey all, I'm trying to get my mother into caching, but she could use a little tech help with her gps. I was hoping maybe there's some cachers in the Billings area that would be willing to help out, if so drop me a message. Thanks!

Re: New Friends
I think with the guy, just have an activity in mind, something you both showed interest in and give him a call to see if he would like to go with you and maybe grab a beer. The Female is probably going to be quite a bit trickier, depends on how understanding your significant other is. Keep her invol...

Re: Feeling on Wherigo caches?
I was the same way, then I bought an Oregon and started playing with the builder. But now with the release of the iPhone and Android apps it's made them much more accessible. I know in our local area there is a pretty good buzz lately on them. Several people have cartridges in the works, including m...

Feeling on Wherigo caches?
So I know the wherigo project was initially started by groundspeak, but they have seemed to abandoned it. All recent development has been through individuals in an open source environment, much like opencaching. Recently there have been apps developed for both the iPhone and android based smartphone...

Re: Geosphere App
You can do that as well, or through your email at least until they update the app to do a direct upload. Being able to scrape data though would allow you to search for nearby caches while out in the field. So say you're on vacation or a business trip and want to grab a couple quick caches and dont h...

Geosphere App
Thought I'd give you guys with iphones a heads up on the Geosphere app. I know alot of people dont know about, and when I've tried to discuss it on the GC forums they did a pretty good job of censoring it. In my opinion its light years ahead of the GC app, with its only flaw being that it couldn't s...

Re: How many people do you cache with?
I usually cache either just by myself or with one other friend. When I go after the backcountry caches I feel a lot safer out with someone else, at least they can drag my bloody corpse back if something goes wrong ;). Although I was unemployed for a few months and started meeting with a weekly group...
