Re: Record FTF find time for OCNA-only cache?

In 2010 and 2011, I could place an OCNA (then OCUS) only cache, and have several people rush out for it in the Buffalo area. Four or Five finds in the first couple of weeks wasn't uncommon. And one of the long time big time (started caching in 2004, I believe) FTF hounds was one of those people. I w...

Re: User name change.

Of course I called you ninny, silly! ;) I'm a huge Leslie Chow fan. :P Yes, that was the MEGA that struck a nerve. Garmin posted an interview with the event hosts in their blog or something like that. The two Garmin reps there claimed to be "testers", and would not tell me their geocaching user nam...

Re: User name change.

Oh, yes. Reminds me of The Urban Legend of Opie http://www.opencaching.us/viewcache.php?cacheid=2135 TrailTech? Pretty sure that was one of the two ladies representing Garmin at the Hatfield McCoy 2 Mega event that I met. :D I autographed a OpenCaching hat for one of them. I don't think OpenCaching...

Re: User name change.

Oh yes, I remember that guy. ;) He was our community leader just before they killed off the forums to silence all of the negativity about the site. I hear he is big into Munzee now? I remember too. Although I never used that site (I was pissed off because of the name, and I was only a regular user ...

Re: User name change.

I tried contacting MR.Yuck in regards to changing my user name here on OCNA and have not gotten a response , so maybe posting here in the forums will help. 8-) I was able to change my user name on my listings here, and I would like my user name changed across the whole platform as well. Any help ou...

Re: Create new caches broken again.

Very possible, MPH. We had a little "relapse" a couple days after the first big break. Sorry about that.

Re: Opie is now out of the picture

This all falls under the umbrella of SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization. I have done this crap, to the best of my abilities! When I became webmaster in 2013, this site had no account at Google or Bing/Yahoo webmaster tools, had very few META tags in the source code (although many will ...

Re: Geocaching survey

I finally took the survey. I see fesphd17 did eventually get permission to post it at the Groundspeak forums. And boy, did she get raked over the coals!! I will say though, I brought up the fact she got raked over the coals at a private Geocaching forum I frequent, and a couple people there proceede...

Opie is now out of the picture

Just a cute little post here. What was it, August 2015 opencaching.com went dark? They still showed up before us on a Google or Yahoo/Bing search for the word. Pretty recently, they are now out of the picture. And when I say Yahoo/Bing, they have long since combined their search efforts; you'll pret...
