EC-like caches as unknowns with questions?
Last week we were up in the Northern Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, and magical place with amazing geological formations. I visited a few places that would make (IMO) great earthcaches, but I don’t know that I am too interested in created those on that site. The way I understand it, a virtual cache bri...

Re: unable to use the site
Now it's working for me no matter what browser or what I address I type. From home, using Chrome or Firefox on Windows7.
If anyone is still having issues please report it here.

This is being discussed in another thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1829&p=9269#p9260
try typing "www.opencaching.us" directly into the address bar. may depend on browser.
Or maybe it only works if you live in the same country as where the servers are located

Re: unable to use the site
At work and at home, using Firefox (53.0 at work, not sure what version at home) and Win7-OS, I get the same issues when I use a shortcut for OCNA. Blank screen with a "/" In the address bar is just states "opencaching.us/" - no http or www . The shortcuts are "http://opencaching.us/" If I manually ...

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
I drop in there once in a while but too often. It's largely useless information, imo. Just a handful of users bickering back and forth over opinion.

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
Tried to view your cache but was blocked by the paywall. Mr.Yuck and Termite Hunter will be in the same boat. I found New York states oldest geocache a couple years ago. Found a OCNA moving cache along the way and it was more fun to find that the oldest cache. Why? I had no doubts that the Spot cach...

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
If I go to http://www.opencaching.com right now, I get nothing. An invalid URL page. As opposed to a page saying opencaching.com has shut down, and giving a link to Geocaching.com. Hmm, is the URL available to buy? Mixed feelings about that. Not sure what the relationship is now with garmin and gro...

Re: Did I set the OCNA Lonely cache record?
Sorry, looks like I got you beat on that one.....just barely though Babes' On The Bruce http://opencaching.us/viewcache.php?cacheid=749 6 years, 8 months and 16 days since it was hidden; 5 years, 5 months and 4 days since it was listed. Sadly I was FTF. Wasn't listed until 2011 (although it was hidd...

New York Admin spammer?
Can the admin please take a look at this user New York Admin Registered Since: 03/02/2017 http://opencaching.us/viewprofile.php?userid=15935 Besides the fact that the user name is similar / same (?) as a geocaching.com reviewer (I think), and I have no belief whatsoever that it is the same person. N...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
last summer on a "remote beach" (okay, a 1/2 mile hike or so) we found a rock, wasn't painted but had a bunch of words written on it with a sharpie. Basically invited people to take photos of where they found the rock and share on Instagram. I didn't since I don't use Instagram but seemed like a nea...
