Re: The Dead Drop (USB) Cache

Sorry if it sounded like I was trying to discourage others. The purpose of the initial post was to get a discussion going on how to do this cache and be protected at the same time. I obviously should have re-read how I worded the post. Dont get me wrong as I love this idea and as I did state in the ...

Re: The Dead Drop (USB) Cache

It would look like this when placed: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_uIDfv8kksTM/TNwmNIBAZjI/AAAAAAAAGXk/q2nDe9GM6so/s800/deadrop.jpg Security is an issue for some. If someone is concerned, by all means they shouldn't plug into one... but they also should not discourage others who wish to hide and/or seek De...

Re: The Dead Drop (USB) Cache

Another idea I use ALOT is load Linux Mint on a CD and run that CD as the OS.

This gives you an OS that is ONLY run in memory and in fact you dont even need to have a hard drive in the machine. When you turn on off the machine everything is gone including any virus or logger you may have picked up.

The Dead Drop (USB) Cache

Due to my current job I want to play devils advocate regarding this new cache type. I love the idea of this new type!! However it really opens the finder up to a virus or keylogger. Yes you can run a scanner on your pc or device but not every scanner will pick up every virus/logger. Can we discuss w...

What else?

Other than caching and navigation, what else do you use your GPS for?

Re: Getting another tattoo tonight

Currently I have Mickey Mouse on my ankle and the Fighting Irish Mascot on my shoulder. I am now considering the TB icon and tracking number for my left ankle.

Re: Garbled Emails

I have received 2 emails since submitting my first cache. Both have had nothing but garbage characters in the body of the message. I believe there is an encoding issue with your email server. It looks like the emails are encoded in some strange way. It says BASE 64 for the content-transfer-encoding...

Re: Cross listed caches

Because far as I can tell, it's the the most serious competition that Geocaching.com has anywhere in the world. Don't quote me on that one though. I agree. It seems the Germans are what is keeping Navicache alive. That area of Europe seems to be about 80% of the activity on NC. NC is also a good ex...
