Re: New Benchmark cache type
Still off topic (WHERE ARE THE ADMINS?) I saw a Painted Rock today. Almost stopped to add it as a listing on OCNA. It was a bit plain as it was only painted white but it should make a fine addition to our database. Those guys will approve anything anyway won't they? Real question is, where are the ...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
No thanks. It already sounds too much like Waymarking. Wait, is that a bad thing?

It's going to be the next big thing in geocaching, OCNA should offer them as a cache type.

Re: New Benchmark cache type
I hope all goes well with your surgery. Meanwhile I sneeked in another WM while you were gone. http://www.opencaching.us/viewcache.php?cacheid=2657 I found that old historic survey stone a few years ago, and I believe it will make a nice addition to OCNA. I'm sure that lot's of geocachers have visit...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
Your listings are looking really good, I like the format. Truthfully, I quit thinking about a new cache type, but I'm enjoying listing these new BM Vitruals. Email here would not work for me yesterday. I have thought about offering some of my photos of BM's and Virginia Historical Markers on a few s...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
I'm experimenting with a table to display the info, it's designed around NGS and couple be adopted for other marks (i.e. Canadian) or there could be different tables - one for NGS listed, one for NGS unlisted, one for Canadian, etc. My goal is a standardized format that is easy for the user. http:/...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
Yes, I've been benchmarking in Kentucky's highest point there along the Virginia border. There is still one BM that has not been recovered yet, but I know where to look the next time I visit. I believe some added content about the area and how to locate the BM would be helpful. They all started out ...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
Well, even if things did not go as planned, I came up with a few new ideas. We can just call them virtuals for now. No problems.
It would be nice to hear some input on my newest listings.... the BM Virtual thingies. Maybe someone viewed them?

Re: New Benchmark cache type
Well guys, we are all aware that the unexpected has happened, and now it appears as if the new BM cache type will not be anytime soon. I was really trying to move away from virtuals, but a BM cache is just a virtual cache with a different name. I don't want to risk losing any drafts I have been work...
