Re: Opie is now out of the picture
You should ask Garmin to sponsor us here at OCNA. http://www.garmin.com/en-US/company/sponsorship I'm sure that they still have plenty of geocaching swag to give away,... which brings to mind that some people just didn't like free Garmin swag at a G$ MEGA event. But why not ask them for some s...

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
Not sure what the relationship is now with garmin and groundspeak but garmin is back to preloading their handhelds with thousands of groundspeak caches and only mentions geocaching.com as the place for geocache listings. Likely it's that same old stale data from a few years ago. ;) I was looking in...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
We're not really considering this, are we? :P Trackable at OpenCaching North America. :D Recently, I wrote "Painted rock starter kit" on some nice smooth river stones and have left them in geocaches. I painted rocks with my children when they were small, before we geocached together. I used to scri...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
Okay I thought you were kidding about painted rocks except now it's coming up in some facebook groups I'm a member of - camping related groups. And now there are FB groups dedicated to this: "Here's two Facebook groups, RVing Rocks, and Rock the Parks. For the painting rocks. Paint then, hide them,...

Re: Opie is now out of the picture
Funny, I googled Opie geocaching and my old listing came up. http://www.opencaching.us/viewcache.php?cacheid=2135 We still have a few caches there, but the area is under construction, and really messed up the D/T rating on my 5/5. It's still quite difficult, but not as much of a bramble there anymo...

Re: New Benchmark cache type
I follow some of the other OpenCaching platform forums as well, but never post there. I'm guessing most people use Facebook geocaching groups to communicate? I believe in offering quality caches to attract interest, and I think these new BM listings are of interest to the average geocacher, but of n...

I was waiting to find out before I bought it for my Kindal. Darn good price there for a good read.Mr.Yuck wrote:KnowsOpie wrote:Mr.Yuck wrote: Yes indeed, I buggered up those dates, didn't I? Even with only 6 entries, you didn't win, by the way. Sorry, maybe next time.

Re: New Benchmark cache type
I've been driving since Monday, 13 days after surgery. Don't worry, not overdoing it. only 1, 2 or 3 errands a day, so far. I will return to work (office job) Mon., Feb. 6th. Basically, that will be 3 weeks off. The surgery was on a Tuesday, and I worked half a day that Monday. No Benchmarks or Pai...
