Re: Little Free Library caches
Actually the only one that I have ever seen is outside of the public library in Kingsport, Tennessee. I took a few photos and was going to list it on the waymarking site, but it really does not fit in with the type of things that I waymark. And by the way, it's good to be back in the forums. Now I'm...

Time capsule? Message in a Bottle? Cash stash? Geocache?
Anyone else following this in the news or other media where a person found what appears to geocachers as being a geocache, but at the time of this posting it is bidding off on eBay at $305. The finder claims it was found inside of a tree stump in a park, and it appears decades old aged with patina. ...

Re: Little Free Library caches
I became aware of Little Free Libraries through the Waymarking site, but have never found one listed as a geocache. Would it be acceptable to leave a OCNA guest register in one of these explaining geocaching?

Re: New Virtual
I just wrote up my first historical virtual cache. It is for the Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville. While writing it up I noticed that it opened on Sept. 17, 1910. So I have set the cache to go active on Sept. 17, 2010. I couldn't find the time of the day the doors opened so I set it for 7am. S...

Re: History Caching Basics
Looking forward to more and to getting down your way sometime. You may want to check out the Scott County Tourism FB page. Geotourism was attempted with geocaches in POI's in the county and events during our Clinch Mountain Music Fest, but that takes sponsors and people willing to work at it, or be...

Re: History Caching Basics
Any cache located at / near a site of historic interest, which should also include historical / background information on the cache page. Another concern of mine is inactivity. I have historical listings that are active and being logged on GC.com, and I would like to give this site my support, but ...

I found and logged my 600th find. I'm a "selective" geocacher. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_de ... 7b9cfdeebe

Re: History Caching Basics
I have quite a few listings based on history. Many are virtual listings, others are traditional geocaches in historic locations. I only try and use a virtual listing where physical geocaches are not allowed or are not feasable. I'm not a big fan of cross listing, but from my stand point, I'm the onl...

Re: Welcome history-caching friends
I own quite a few history caches. At least four respectfully placed at Confederate cemeterys. About 95% of my listings are based on factual history and are placed in the historic location. One of my fav's is a ammo can hide near the ambush site of the Moses Cockrell party by indians led by Chief Bog...
