From the thread over at TerraCaching...

The Garmin wheel is nothing more than a circle consisting of five rings divided into 4 segments.

The northern segment (above) is the grandeur.
The eastern segment (right) stands for the area.
The southern segment (below) stands for the size.
The western segment (left) stands for the difficulty.

Well, they're certainly toying with us, eh? Sort of reminds me of when radio stations change format, and they do all sorts of strange things for a few days, or even a week. I'm not crazy, someone out there must know what I'm talking about. :D

And someone did own "0pencaching.com" before Garmin. whether they sold it to Garmin, or it just expired, and Garmin bought it, is unknown. To me at least.

Ffft, I'm a part-time radio personality and I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. IhateitIhateitIhateitIhateitIhateit! Our program director is famous for pulling stuff like that over the smallest things, grr.

ANYWHOO, IMVHO they can leave people hanging all they want . . . as a sponsored site I wonder how long people will put up with it essentially being a product ad. I know I won't be using it, I'll stick with "open source" caching, thank you very much!

I tend to agree with the site being more of an ad than a service.

The ad seems to be up and running in BETA, now. I've logged in for research purposes and have found a few bugs, just in trying to edit my profile, so far.

Just signed up too. Looks pretty interesting. At least now we know that blue thing is a squirrel. I give them credit. The only Garmin specific thing I could find on the site was the check box under creating a cache that says "Has a chirp." Guess we'll see how it goes.

Looks like they are making it easy to transfer your hides from other sites too.

Yeah, so they have like 800+ hides so far. Probably only the ones place by them are unique.

You can upload your finds from other sites too. I uploaded an old gc PQ. Now I have 1300 finds on a site with only 800 listings. It does not seem to accept TC.com gpx data though.
