Website should be faster

At least that's what I'm led to believe. The coolest thing about being webmaster is that I learn stuff almost every day. I'll never make any money off this knowledge being a Mechanical Engineer, but it is fun to learn. Today we bought a couple of extra domain names, opencachingnorthamerica.com and opencachingnorthamerica.us. When you set up the DNS for a new domain, Rackspace.com (our ISP), sets the TTL (Time to Live) for every record you create at 5 minutes, and this is highly recommended when you're first creating the records. I just happened to click on a little link to a Rackspace "TTL FAQ" today while doing this stuff. After the initial set-up, and everything is working, it is recommended that you take these TTL's to 24 hours, or 1440 minutes. So every single record ever created for this website (and there were about 25 of them for the 5 domains) was set at the default 5 minutes.

The Rackspace FAQ tells me this should result in increased site performance. :D
