Creating a Route Query

Is there a way to create a route?

Unfortunately, that is one feature the OC software lacks.

Do use GSAK? I've not used this feature but understand that your can filter for caches within a polygon on a map. In theory, you could download the caches for whatever states you'll be travelling thru and then filter down. Or you could just load them all into your GPS (I do this part with my Nuvi) and just watch for them along the way. One benefit of our current number of caches is that it's easier to work around the lack of this feature.

Yes, within GSAK there are 2 options: A macro that "plots" a caching route using the selected caches and the polygon which you can use to grab caches in the GSAK database along a defined route or area. Note the key words in the GSAK database and this is very different from creating a pocket query along a route available via gc.com

Well, once you have them filtered, you could load it to your GPS, so it could be another option to get the same result.

For now, since there are not a lot of caches yet, I just did a query for Texas and one for Louisiana and downloaded it to GeoHunter on my Droid. That'll cover my trip to New Orleans to visit relatives for Christmas. I'll finally get to cache in another state! :)

Hey...anyone around New Orleans/Belle Chasse...wanna add a few more caches real quick? I'll be there Thursday - Monday.
