Here is a good resource for History Cachers,

This site is the "Historical Marker Database".

They also have an Android app (and probably iPhone) that can determine your location and return the closest historical marker/place. Each listing will also include x number of closest historical markers/places to your position.

You can't count your visits on the HMDB site, but you could duplicate the places here and track your travels....

Yeah, I've used this site as a resource when I was listing some markers at Waymarking, mostly to avoid hand typing the text from the sign.
