Travel Bugs with history

Post by history-cacher » Sat Nov 13, 2010 9:42 pm

I have a question. I have a couple history themed travel bugs, is it possible to log them into a Opencache?

They are registered with Geocaching and not sure if they can crossover to opencaches.

They can be logged through this site: http://geokrety.org/index.php?lang=en_EN.UTF-8

A link is available at the top of the OCUS site in the menu bar.

You cannot attach anything to a TB without getting the owner's permission first, this includes a ziplock baggie and a laminated card or sheet.

I agree with this, GratianHarris. On the Groundspeak side, there's this guy from Michigan named MaxB on the River (or something like that) who is a Travel Bug Fanatic. He attaches these huge laminated tags to TB's stating that he took them on a "tour". I've seen 3 or 4 forum complaints about this over the years. I don't know that any TB owners have ever emailed him a nastygram or anything.

What do you think about our great friends (we interviewed them for the blog) at http://travelfleas.com/? Since they are such great friends of the website in social media, I actually bought a 10 pack myself before we even interviewed them. HOWEVER, I do believe you should ask permission to attach them to people's Travel Bugs. I have only used 2, and I asked, and received permission in both cases. I must say though, I didn't "go there" as far as asking if THEY believe you should ask permission, in the interview. :D
