Inspired by Rayman (who used them for Munzees, not BIT's) I picked up a 10 pack of these for $7.99 at Office Max. Staples definitely has them, and it came up first on a Google search. However, there are no Staples located within 90 miles of my location. I dunno, does Office Max and Office Depot have a stranglehold on the market, and Staples doesn't want to come here? Who knows.

Anyways, they are advertised as "business card" size, although they're bigger than the average business card. They are 2.3 x 3.9 inches, according to the label. They are 8 mil thickness. The front is the heavier 8 mil plastic, while the backing is a much thinner plastic with adhesive, that holds the BIT in place. They seem to work pretty good, I've used 4 so far, but 3 were Munzees. Much cheaper in the long run to buy a laminator, but if you're just a casual Bit cacher or Munzee player, I think it's worth checking out.

I purchase scotch brand laminating pouches. 2.5 x 3.5 20 of them for about $3 at target.
I don't have a laminator so I just run them over with an iron. Works fine for bits and they seem to hold up well. Just make sure the edges seal

They also have 10 packs of the self sealing pouches at a higher price but I think its still less than that mentioned in the first post

Yeah, the instructions on mine (and they're definitely not 3M brand) don't say anything about running them over with an iron, but that's a good idea. I still have 4 left from this package, I'll give that a try.

I think, seeing as I'm getting into Munzee too, that I will buy a laminator. I think the guy who told me he paid $25 for one at Wal-Mart under-estimated what he remembered paying though.

I place the laminate between a piece of thin cloth so it does not contact the iron directly. Works fine.

I have seen some really cheap laminators here and there in the $20_25 range at craft stores and Walmart target type stores

Scotch Brand, but the closest Target to me had 5 packs for $2.09. That still blows away the $7.99 + tax I paid for 10 of a different brand at Office Max. And I am of the opinion the Scotch Brand has a slightly thicker backing strip than the off-brand. Works for me. I have other Target's in the area to check out in the future.

Eh, still debating buying the Laminator. At my current BIT/Munzee placing rate, I'm good for paying about 45 cents for them at Target. I would really, really, have to get into deploying Munzee's big time. But hey, you never know, I'll keep that option open.
