Less Cross-Listed Caches

Post by NativTxn » Tue Sep 06, 2011 10:58 am

I went in to about 5 of my cross-listed caches and archived them on geocaching.com. I made them OCUS Only now. I still don't understand why more people have not tried OCUS, but if they want some of my caches, the will have to try it. I put a note on the GC caches that I'm archiving them because they are listed on Opencaching.US.

Thanks. I wonder if you'll get slapped by your gc reviewer for the reference.

What are they going to do? Un-archive it? :D

LOL that is too funny!!! Moving forward all my hides will be USOC only caches... unless there is a specific reason to list it on GC that will promote our site.

One thing I've been thinking about to help promote OCNA is keeping an eye on GC Events and going out and hiding OC caches near the events than attending them and promoting the caches. Also if I know the hosts of the even perhaps emailing them the gpx file to include with the downloads. Find the local GC caches near the event and drop in some OC swag.

I had archived one of my caches on GC that keeps getting muggled. I was near the location, so I decided to look around one more time. Turns out...it wasn't really muggled. It had been placed in another location. Since it was already archived, I added the listing here with the original hide date.

Please don't move caches to a "better spot" without checking with the CO first! Thank you...I'll get off my soap box now.

Good grief, y'all are quick! I just submitted that a few minutes ago and it's already active! Gotta love it!

I have reduced my cross-listed caches down to 10. Everything else that was cross-listed is now listed as OCUS Only.

I've only got one cross listed cache, and the only reason for that is that it is a fairly difficult puzzle and it needs all the exposure it can get!

I'm down to 5 that are cross-posted. I went into the Hint area and put "Also listed on opencaching.US" in each one of them. It'll be decrypted when you look at the cache page, so it won't be glaringly obvious...but it's there.
