Cache Sizes
Since I bumped a thread over at GS a couple months ago, I figured I'd bring it up over hear too. Any thoughts on adding a 'Nano' size?
My personal opinion would to see size options like this:
Nano
Micro
Small
Medium
Large
Extra Large
For reference here are the various sizes in the geocaching community:
OCNA Website:
Micro
Small
Normal
Large
Very Large

Navicache:

Geocaching Australia:

Re: Cache Sizes
I don't think that would be too difficult. Not something I'd jump right on, but I think it definitely can be put "on the list". Wow, so we would be like the first people on the interwebs to do it? That would be cool. It seems to have been left open on purpose by the original programmers of this website from Poland. See the graphic below? Any other table I've seen in our database begins with "1", cache_sizes, for some odd reason begins at "2".

Re: Cache Sizes
Wonder if it was purposely done to leave for the possible addition of "Nano".

DG. did you ever edit someones post when you meant to quote it? That's like the 10th time I've done that since becoming a board admin. What I meant to post was:DudleyGrunt wrote:Wonder if it was purposely done to leave for the possible addition of "Nano".
I'm convinced it was. We need a little picture of a blinky nano, an icon if you will, amongst other things. But I still do not believe it is beyond my capabilities to do the whole thing. Now will I take 5 years like Geocaching.com? Hmm, we shall see.
Re: Cache Sizes
As a side note, could someone update the wiki so it's consistent with the website? I would, but it seems you need a special, unobtainable, account...

Thanks for the note. That actually covers a few things that we need to work on. I'll be seeing Mr.Yuck tomorrow night, actually, while he's in Maryland. We'll discuss.UMainah wrote:As a side note, could someone update the wiki so it's consistent with the website? I would, but it seems you need a special, unobtainable, account...

Re: Cache Sizes
The Wiki now reflects the cache sizes used on the site.
The only variation I saw was "Regular" instead of "Normal". Normal is the term used on the cache page submission and cache page.
Is there something else you had in mind?

Thanks!
Re: Cache Sizes
Just don't allow "Not chosen"
What a worthless designation

Re: Cache Sizes
Especially since GS has an "Other" size. I think they are both often be used to indicate "Nano".
